New Years....is Anti Resolution time!

1. This year I will not make a pledge to lose weight. But rather sleep 7 to 9 hours each night and so I may have more energy, to do more activities. (thank-you Step Brothers)

2. I will not force myself to put awful school lunch in my stomach. Instead I will choose to bring a delightful lunch from home that will fill my stomach and have sufficient taste.

3. I will not waste my time trying to look good my senior year in high school. Why? Probably because this is my last year and I am not trying to impress anyone. ( Some days I do try to look presentable, but just some days.)

4. This year I probably won’t be climbing any mountains or volcanos. People would ask me why? And I would say probably because there aren't any mountains or volcanos near me and I don't really want to die at the age of 17/18.

5. I will not be reading any books this year. The reason for this is because I have absolutely no interest in reading whatsoever and I haven’t read a book in all my life that has interested me besides the bible.

6. I will not find myself running for fun this year. Why? Well because I HATE running, if I wanted to be a tad in shape I would run or do crunches but I will not be joining any marathons.

7. I will not be finding myself waking up at 6 for school. The reason for this is because I think sleep is way more important than trying to fry my hair and cake make-up on.

8. I will not burst out in rage. The reason for this one is it seems I have a small case of bi-polar disorder and a small case of everyone annoys me, the way I will solve this is I will count to 10 look at the person who has just amazed me with stupidity and just simply smile. (That’s funny!)

9. This year I will no longer act like I'm interested in stupid video game Thomas plays. Why? Probably because there annoying and a waste of time, that's the reason I will no longer take any interest in.

10. I will not punish myself to watch reruns of jeopardy anymore. Ha-ha some may ask why do you even watch that show in the first place, and I would respond with well....since I only have to channels at home I'm slightly forced to watch what is being played. But I cannot take this torture anymore, so here goes. I am done watching dumb trivia shows.

  1. Haley, Your anit-resolutions are so funny and you wrote them with a touch of your sarcastic humor in it which made it pretty unique. I agree with you about your anti-resolution numbers three and six. I feel the same way you do when it comes to having to get up two hours before school starts to get dressed and all "dolled" up just to go to a school where you see the same people everyday and no one really cares. There's no reason to impress anyone except yourself. I also absolutley h-a-t-e- hate running. I loved to run when I played soccer, I could run all day but if there is no reason for me to be running then I will not. Good luck with your Anti-Resolutions!

    2. Haley you have great anti resolutions that seem perfect for your personality. Now you say that you won't burst out in rage, that's a pretty hard goal because we all know how short temepered you are, but i hope you fix it. You say that you won't waste your time trying to look good well I think whether you try or don't try you will always look beattiful. Climmbing volcanoes would be stupid but I used to live in colorado and climbing mountains is amazing and I honestly don't think there is anything more fun than climbing a mountain. Last, I used to love reading books, but now I hate it so congrajulations for not reading any books so far this year.

  2. Haley,
Most of you anti-resolutions made me laugh. I don’t really know you but by your resolutions you seem like a fun and funny person. Every year it seems like I try to pledge that I will lose weight, of course it never happens. I just can’t seem to steer clear of all the yummy food. I also definitely agree with the school lunch thing. Since this semester started I have brought my lunch every day. Not only does the food look gross half the time, it also tastes about the same. Number 7 of your anti-resolutions is something that I am forced to do because of chores and getting my brother ready. Although, sometimes I get to sleep in and that’s really nice. :) Number 10 of your anti-resolutions is something that I can really relate to because I don’t have TV at all, but we did finally get Netflix. That was the best thing since sliced bread to me.

  3. Oh, Hales. I do enjoy your sense of humor. I agree with every single one of your anti-resolutions, especially those about waking up early and being interested in video games. The video games my brother plays are just so boring! I do not see the point in them. Would it not be awesome if there was a volcano around here though? I mean, it would be terrifying, but awesome. Anyway, best of luck with these resolutions. I can see some of them being rather difficult for you (you are going to wait 10 whole seconds before responding to someone’s ignorant comment?) I admire your ambition, but I definitely know that I could not do that. One last thing: Jeopardy is a fantastic program and I cannot recommend it highly enough. In fact, I think we should have a Jeopardy watching party sometime. Sounds like a plan. I’ll bring the popcorn.

  4. Haley, your anti-resolutions are very personal. It's a good use for your anti-personal answers because I believe those issues can be changed. From the wise fortune cookie, I say that you are doing the correct thing of changing yourself instead of trying to change others. Your will isn't great enough to conquer others so you have to change yourself to meet your standards. I understand there are some things you can't do much about, pertaining to your television issue and Thomas's love for video games but just be who you are like you have said in Motivational Literature. I don't know your personal life well but mountains and volcanoes won't kill you anytime soon. The percentage of accidents happening during those kind of situations are slim to none. Keep it on your bucket list or if you have already done mountain climbing, try doing something more death defying. You would rather have history write you down dying doing something exciting than die laying in a hospital because of cancer.

  5. Haley I really like your Anti-Resolutions, some were pretty funny. :) I just hope everything goes well with you and not putting on all that makeup. Even though im sure most of us think you look better without makeup :) Plus makeup is suppose to be bad for the skin. :) But it doesnt hurt to wear it every once in awhile. ;)When it comes to getting up in the morning, you have to reemember not to be to early because what if you get up to early and you are just tired all day long? So just get up and get enough sleep at night and you shall do fine. :)

  6. Funny anti-resolutions. :) I’m right there with you on #5. Reading chapter books are so boring, and i lose interest after reading less than a page. I am appalled with #9. Humor him, video games are not as bad as they seem. Although I don't have time for video games anymore, there still fun on those rare occasions where I have time. I'm sure he loves seeing you being interested in a game he plays. And #7, oh my gosh, why would you ever get up at 6am for school. Makes you look like you actually want to go to school. As for #2 I think it’s kind of 50/50 on good to bad school lunches, but we can always look forward to good ol' chicken patty Wednesday. #10 can’t believe that show still comes on. Think it's about time for that show to disappear, didn’t it come out in the early 90’s. Anyways, good anti-resolutions and good luck to you.

  7. Dear Haley
I agree so much with your resolutions from Thomas and the video games being a waste of time to the school lunches. I used to love video games when I was younger but now I just can’t seem to get interested and if they do interest me then it’s not for very long. I agree with your lunch program but I hate fixing food I just assume to eat it cold. like tony pizza if they weren’t frozen I would just open and eat or toast why waste time toasting it just take a bite of bread and a spoon full of jelly and boom breakfast. Last is school 6 am is understandable if you still ride the bus but isn’t that the motivation to get your license and drive? I love not having to get to school till like 8:55 and most of the time I still don’t make it till like 9 just in time for the bell to ring.

  8. Haley, your resolutions definitely reflect your awesome personality! I definitely agree with trying to look good for school! I mean, really, who are we trying to impress anyway? Occasionally I have the urge to look cute but that does not happen very often. I don't even think I could wake up six even if I wanted to this semester. I sleep in as long as I can and waking up for school is probably one of the most difficult tasks of my day. I have always wanted to go out west and climb mountains. I think the scenery would be so beautiful! I used to absolutely despise running but now it's not so bad if I'm in the mood. I have never understood the video games guys spend so much time one either. Although I will say my sisters and I were experts at Crash Team Racing as children. :) Good luck with everything this year!

I love how you are calm enough to deal with that kind of person I try to avoid them at all costs but my brother in law forces me to try to not beat him to a pulp. The only reason a man plays games is to expand his experiences and learn to multi task but also spend time irresponsibly. the times when you read it takes time and it could be spent elsewhere doing something else. i am a reader always have always will be so we dont share that likeness. the worst case scenario is that college will teach you to appreciate books.

  10. Haley, your anti resolutions are so funny and interesting. I personally enjoyed reading the climbing the mountains resolution because of the fact that there are no mountains near this area. I would not want to climb a mountain or a volcano at this age too because of the high possibilities of the casualties and inexperience of mountain climbing. Although if you ever feel the urge to want to do something extreme other than mountain climbing...there bungee jumping. I would not do it but it's a suggestion and it's a thrill flying in the air and hoping the rope doesn't get cut. Like I said it's only a suggestion...hope everything works out for you this year Haley!
